Zona de Artesanías is a 200 meter section of the Tourist Loop identified on many maps as Avenida Orinoco or Calle 18. The Zona de Artesanías (Indigenous Arts and Crafts Center) has over 5,000 unique pieces of Indigenous Artisan Handiwork available from 13 different ethnic groups of the Orinoquia Natural Region which is larger than most countries. There are several (non-indigenous) souvenir shops and art galleries with knowledgeable shop attendants, along this route closer to the docks that offer Indigenous manufactured arts and crafts with certificates of origin and source.
Zona de Artesanias is a major attraction that is not frequently spoken about by local tourism operators, but it is omnipresent representative of over 100,000 Indigenous residents of the Orinoquia Natural Region which behold special rights which allows them to sell their arts, crafts and produce from the forest informally (without a business license) in Puerto Carreño.
The Tuparro Biosphere Reserve and National Park is located in the eastern plains of Colombia in Vichada county, a flat area bounded by the Orinoco River to the east, the Tomo River to the north and the Tuparro and Tuparrito to the south. The area undulates with a series of small valleys and major rivers and streams. A few areas are permanently flooded during parts of the year.
